The Prince Edward County Chamber of Tourism and Commerce represents the
business community. Working together, we promote and increase Business and
Tourism in the County of Prince Edward.
We are strategically located in the "Golden Triangle" between Toronto,
Montreal and Ottawa, right in the heart of Canada's population belt and
within an hour of U.S. entry points. Our pastoral landscape, 800 kilometers
of shoreline and "small town" charm provides the perfect backdrop where
business opportunities and lifestyle work hand in hand.
Every person in business who deals with the public, be they a retailer, medical practitioner, lawyer, tourist operator or manufacturer; has an implied responsibility to participate as a member of the Chamber.
Most businesses benefit directly, and all certainly indirectly from the activities of the Chamber. Thus, they all have much to benefit by belonging and influencing, in a positive way, the actions and activities of this not-for-profit organization.
Originally established in 1905 as the Picton Board of Trade, the Chamber was incorporated in 1979 as the Prince Edward Chamber of Commerce.
Separately, a group interested in promoting tourism in the County established the Quinte's Isle Tourist Association in 1952. After operating temporary booths in various locations throughout the County, the current office at 116 Main Street in Picton was purchased by the Tourist Association in 1964.
