Base31
PEC Community Partners Inc, a group of community builders including Tercot Communities, DECO Communities, PEC Placemaking and Rockport group purchased the former WWII airbase in Picton in December of 2021. The people behind Base31 chose this land to not only create a “Destination” for our community but to tell the history of the airbase. They strive to keep the core values of Prince Edward County alive and create a welcoming and inclusive place for PEC.
CEO Tim Jones and the team at Base31 recognize that Prince Edward County is full of many different talents and believe they should be used together to create something special. Their goal is to create a “destination” for the Prince Edward County community to come together and create this solely through collaboration. They have partnered with the department of Illumination, Arts Council, History Lives Here and County Museums to help tell the story. They also strive to help with tourism, explore transit solutions and work on creating affordable housing.
Base31’s main goal is to keep the well being of PEC in mind. They have come up with many ways to do their business locally by sourcing products, hiring the PEC community and creating affordable housing solutions. Base31 and PEC Community Partners Inc. have stayed true to their promise of giving back to the community and have made several donations and sponsorships to businesses such as Melt Studio & Gallery, The Regent Theatre and PEC Chamber of Commerce.
